2-D animation is a project-based class. What this means is that we work on different areas of animation over the course of the semester. For example, we will explore the history of animation and learn and understand the 12 Principles of Animation. Assignments will be done in class, such as animating a pendulum swing, a ball bounce, and several other projects. We will also be working on our drawing skills and gaining an understanding of how important it is to be able to draw. Students have daily exercises in drawing, as this is one of the most critical abilities any animator must have. By the end of the semester, students should have a good grasp of the animation process.
